Aswini Kumar Kar

Aswini Kumar Kar, having qualified B.D.S. from state’s only Govt Dental College i.e. S.C.B.Dental College and Hospital, Cuttack in 2000, He went on to obtain M.D.S. in Prosthodontics in 2007 from Asia’s premier institute AIIMS, New Delhi. After that he was Faculty at two of the reputed Dental colleges in India viz. ITSCDSR, Ghaziabad and SCBDCH, Cuttack and is currently Professor at KIDS, KIIT Deemed to be University, which encompassed Prosthodontics and Oral Imlantology. In 2014, Prof Aswini attended Young Prosthodontics Educators’ Workshop in Germany in which he was among two selected from India and 42 from World. He pursuaded his Post Graduate student in 2015 for a Research Grant of 0.9 lakhs for the first time by International College Prosthodontics and he was one among seven selected for this Research Grant from world. Prof Aswini is the only one from India to feature in Guest Book of Academy for Dental Training Karlsruhe, Germany on their completion of 100 years of anniversary . He was also Young Star Speaker in Indian Prosthodontic Society and Asian Academy of Prosthodontics conference in 2012. He has a keen interest in the development and application of innovative teaching and learning methods, especially blended learning . He continues to produce e-learning materials and assists postgraduate students in the development and writing of research reports and papers. He has already guided 3 Post Graduate students and currently guiding 3 Post Graduate students and about to start to guide Ph.D. students under his belt. Prof Aswini already completed one research project and applied 5 more projects which are under review. Prof Aswini is a Past President IPS Odisha State Branch 2019-2020, EC member and CDE Chairperson at different times since 2014.He is a Fellow of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, Constituent Member of International College of Prosthodontists (USA) and holds multiple National and International memberships of reputed societies. He has made over 20 presentations locally, nationally and internationally and has over 20 publications, including journal papers, chapter in a book and other publications. He has been a reviewer for a variety of national reputed journals.
