Balaji Manohar

Balaji has completed his graduation in the year 1997 and completed his Master of Dental Surgery (Periodontology) in the year 1999. He completed his Postgraduate Diploma in Hospital and Healthcare Management in 2010. He also pursued his MBA (Hospital Administration) in 2018 which shows his eagerness to manage and deliver patient care. He has attended various workshops to enhance his periodontal surgical skills to deliver good treatment to the patient. Balaji, after completing his Master’s degree joined academics as an Assistant Professor and was involved in teaching the undergraduate and postgraduate students. He has evolved as an excellent teacher and has been in academics for the last 20 years. In these years, he has climbed the academic ladder to become the Professor and Head of the Periodontology Department in the year 2013 and is now the Principal of Kalinga Institute of Dental Sciences, Bhubaneswar, India. In these years he has shown excellent rapport and connect with the undergraduate as well as postgraduate students. Balaji is guiding postgraduate students since 2006 and has published original research articles in peer reviewed journals which have clinical relevance. He was elected the Honorary Secretary of the Indian Society of Periodontology in 2010 and in that capacity he showed his leadership qualities and organizational skills in managing a large society and led the society to newer heights. His vision got him re-elected as the secretary for a 2nd term in 2013. He also served as the Editor of the Journal of Indian Society of Periodontology in the year 2017. He is on the Editorial board of many dental journals. He has also been awarded by the Indian Dental Association for his yeoman service to the profession. He also lectures on the subject of Periodontology at various national and international conferences.
