Chinmoyee Deka is a gold medalist in MA Mass Communication and Journalism from Tezpur University. She completed her Bachelor's in Zoology from Ramjas College, Delhi University. Her versatile academic interests shaped her research areas and teaching aptitudes. She is currently pursuing her PhD from Tata Institute of Social Sciences in Disaster Communication. Apart from teaching she also oversees the placement activities of KSMC.
