Teeju Bhagat

Spanish Language Instructor

 

Ms. Teeju Bhagat is an Assistant Professor of Spanish in the Department of Language & Literature, School of Liberal Studies, KIIT Deemed to be University, India. She is pursuing her PhD from Centre of Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and Latin American Studies (CSPILAS), Jawaharlal Nehru University, specializing in Hispanic Philology and Literature. She holds a Master of Philosophy (M.Phil.) degree in Spanish Language and Literature, complemented by a Master of Arts and Bachelors of Arts degree in Spanish from the same university. She has done C1 level from Instituto Cervantes, New Delhi. She qualified UGC (NET-JRF) in December, 2018.
Ms. Bhagat has been selected to participate in a teacher training course for Spanish as a foreign language at the Centro Internacional del Español of the Universidad de Salamanca (CIEUSAL), Spain in September, 2024. She received Prof. Susnigdha Dey Conference Grant (2022) to present her paper in an international conference.  She worked as a University Teaching Assistant at Jawaharlal Nehru University for two years, where she taught Spanish Language and Literature and also Portuguese certificate course. Moreover, she was empanelled as an Academic Counsellor for Masters of Spanish Language at Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU), and Guest faculty in DSEU (Delhi Skill and Entrepreneurship University).

She has book chapters and research articles published in reputed international book publications and in several peer-reviewed international journals. She has also presented several papers in international conferences on Hispanic and Lusophone studies. Her areas of research interest include Comparative Literature, Gender Studies, Decolonial Studies, Popular Culture, Folklore Studies, Migration Studies, Linguistics and Cinema Studies. She is proficient in Hindi, English, Spanish, and Portuguese languages.
