Dr. Santosh Kumar Hotta

Dr. Santosh Kumar Hotta completed his Ph.D. in 2023 from the School of Energy Science and Engineering, IIT Guwahati, after earning an M.Tech in Fluid and Thermal Engineering from the Department of Mechanical Engineering, IIT Guwahati, in 2013. His doctoral research was centered on optimizing operating parameters for biogas-fueled spark ignition engines.
With over eight years of teaching and research experience, Dr. Hotta has published 11 international journal papers, presented at more than 13 international and national conferences, and authored 5 book chapters. He also serves as a reviewer for the Journal of Renewable Energy, Fuel and INAE.
His research expertise spans Fuel-Based Engine Design and Modification, Combustion in CI and SI Engines, GDI and HCCI Engines, Engine Deposits, Renewable fuels (CNG, Biogas, Hydrogen, Ethanol, Methanol, and Ammonia),Waste Heat Recovery, Drying Technology, Computational Fluid Dynamics, and Thermo-Economic Analysis of Engineering Systems.
