Dr. Subarna Bhattacharya
Assistant Professor
Dr. Subarna Bhattacharya is an Assistant Professor of English in the School of Liberal Studies, KIIT University. She holds her BA and MA from Jadavpur University and a Ph.D. from the University of Calcutta. With over eight years of teaching experience, she specializes in travel writing, cultural studies, gender studies, women’s writing, and colonial historiography. She has published widely in national and international journals and completed a RUSA-funded project on 19th-century women’s travel writings in colonial India. Dr. Bhattacharya is part of the international research project Intercultural Perspectives on Information Literacy and Metaliteracy with universities in Germany, the U.S., Bosnia, and India. Passionate about teaching, she designs and teaches English and Soft Skills courses and has co-edited textbooks on literature and communication.
