Swati Samantaray
Professor
Dr. Swati Samantaray has been associated with Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (Deemed to be University), Bhubaneswar since 1997, playing a vital role in the academic and personal development of students as a Professor in the Department of Humanities, School of Liberal Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in English from Utkal University, Bhubaneswar and brings over 27 years of rich experience in teaching English Literature and Professional Communication to undergraduate, postgraduate, and Ph.D. scholars at KIIT and KISS. In recognition of her outstanding contributions to education, Dr. Swati was honoured with the Best Faculty Award in 2012 by the esteemed Founder of KIIT & KISS, Dr. A. Samanta. Her scholarly pursuits are marked by an extensive array of research works, with notable authored and edited books including The Mystic Flights of Tagore, Mysticism: A Literary Quest for Ultimate Reality, and Folklore: A Key to Cultural Understanding. Her academic repertoire also encompasses numerous journal articles and conference papers, reflecting her deep engagement in research. Beyond traditional academia, she has imparted soft skills training as a faculty member at Tata Consultancy Services and has been an invited speaker at various national and international conferences. Dr. Swati actively participates in workshops and academic empowerment programmes organized by various esteemed institutions. Her intellectual curiosity spans a diverse range of fields, including mysticism, ecocriticism, feminism, film studies, cultural studies and folklore, blue humanities as well as digital humanities. As a dedicated mentor, she is deeply committed to the overall career development of her students, staying abreast of current knowledge trends to ensure her teachings are relevant and impactful. She is socially conscious and incessantly espoused to the cause of promoting and providing impetus to humanity.
